Lyn Zinenko has over 20 years of experience in the legal industry.
After graduating from Murdoch University, Lyn commenced her legal career as a private practitioner in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1997. She then moved to Vanuatu where she was Advisor to the Ombudsman, and the Chief Justice’s Inaugural Associate.
She then returned to Australia and worked in the Committee Office at WA Parliament initially to assist the Committee of Inquiry into Finance Brokers and then scrutinising delegated legislation.
Lyn went into private practice in 2002, and began her own criminal law practice in 2005.
Lyn is experienced in dealing with matters in the Supreme, District, Magistrates and Children’s Court jurisdictions, as well as the Crime and Corruption Commission, and is experienced in representing clients in a wide range of matters including homicide offences, violence offences, sex offences, robbery, burglary and various other criminal offences. Lyn is particularly experienced in drug matters, robberies, burglaries and sexual assault matters. Her previous role as the WA Police Union Lawyer allows her to bring a unique perspective to criminal defence, making her well-equipped to assist clients when dealing with police.
Lyn is a member of the WA Criminal Lawyers Association and the Piddington Society.
When off the job, Lyn is an avid gardener and homemaker.
